Kunekune pigs (pronounced “cooney cooney”) are perfect for small farms. Kunekune means “fat and round” in the Maori language. They derive from New Zealand are are known for their sweet-temperaments, medium size, and ability to live primarily on grazing given the proper land.
Females average 120 to 200 pounds, while males can reach the 200 to 300 plus range. They have short, upturned snouts that discourage rooting, and they are less likely to challenge fences. Our pigs have been really gentle with our land and fencing and I've never been more obsessed with an animal! Our pigs have great temperaments and are very affectionate and sweet. We only buy our breeding stock from trusted and well educated breeders. Our pigs are IKHR registerable but can be dual registered.
